Hello. I know it's been a while. My last entry talked about a shop on etsy quite a long time ago.

I'm afraid I've sort of let that fall by the wayside thanks to my job. By the way, I have a job! They hired me on St. Patrick's day. :) Very exciting. I work at an innovative sign-making company that makes bumper stickers, business cards, canvas prints, banners, and even regular signs. However, I'm on the 5am-1pm work shift.

I'll let you think about that for a second.

Okay? Are we good?

Good. What do I do for my job, you ask? Well, basically I review all signs before they print to make sure nothing goes wrong. It's a unique process I'm not allowed to disclose, though, so I can't go into much detail about it. It's probably safe to say that on most days I see close to 60-70% of the signs that get printed, if not more. This applies to all materials the company prints on. It is interesting and engaging work, and I'm learning way more about commercial art and design than I ever thought I would want to learn. While I worked a summer in a print shop in previous years, the difference in techniques is like night and day. The product offering is totally different, too. This company doesn't do t-shirts of any kind...yet.

So that has been my reality for the past several months. I'm doing well and I am much more emotionally stable now. For example, I capslock a lot less, and I no longer rant. I eat much more regularly and get out of my apartment much more, even if it's by myself. (I am fond of company on some days.) It seems I've been suffering from chronic depression and delusions of inadequacy for years. Without that, I'm discovering things about myself that I did not know before. For instance, I want to know everything. EVERYTHING. I've got a rampant sense of curiosity. I also like going to new places. I view people saying I can't do something as a challenge, which may or may not be a little dangerous in some cases. I'm also a very calm personality. The only place I tend to panic is in the car, and you can't really blame me considering some of the drivers I encounter in this city.

Austin is full of bad drivers. This is a fact that needs to be noted in any tourist brochures for this place. The city planners also have horrible ideas concerning parking, especially on South Congress. The street now has back-in parking along it. By back-in parking, I mean exactly what it sounds like. You have to stop in the middle of the street, which is highly trafficked, and reverse into the parking spot. The theory was that you could just take off when you were leaving, I guess. However, they did not take into account cars like the one I almost scraped while one lane over, which was sticking out into the second lane while the poor driver tried to park. That's what happens when you try to park a long car. I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the parallel parking they had before. The traffic lights are terrible, too. Austin was a small city that simply exploded in the past two decades, and the planners have no idea what to do with all the cars everywhere.

In addition to all of this, I have managed to redesign my website at last and plan to add more content as time goes by. You can find it at [link] . Please feel free to leave feedback on this entry if you find any problems. Note: You are guaranteed to have problems if you use IE 6. Don't use it. I did not design the site with that in mind because it has so many limitations.

You may also notice I have deleted a bunch of my old deviations. I've been wanting to do that a while (they're unsightly to me now) and figured now was as good a time as any. I'm not sure what I'll post after the photos I uploaded earlier. I want to turn my site into my primary host for art and everything else I make. I did keep the fan art. Seems like the thing to have in your gallery on dA these days. I also can't be ashamed of DWJ fan art. Should probably do another one at some point.

Hey, Tidah! May I dare you to do a 24h-comic in three weeks' time? The official 24h-comic day is October the 2nd, so that's when I'm doing mine.

Are you in, or are you out? :D

You're on!

Although I am a bit confused over how this works, because there is no way I'll be able to stay up 24 hours straight.

Aha, I knew I could count on you!

Well, the point is to finish a 24 page comic in a 24h period. You don't have to stay awake all that time, but you do have to try to finish the comic in that time either way. In my case I think that means I'll have to stay up drawing, I'm not particularly fast. |'D

That's the strict rule, anyways. Me, I'm just aiming to see how far I can go with this before my mind breaks into tiny little pieces.

HMMMMMMM, okay. I'll be sure to break speed-drawing records on mine :)

Guess I'd better at least have a concept beforehand, though, because otherwise I'll sit there for an hour thinking about everything else I could be doing instead of brainstorming.

Oi, Tidah! How come one cannot comment on your works on your website? Because there's some kickass stuff there, I'd like to have my say in a few pieces.

I loved your Good Idea Hat. :D

The comment feature is so messy, I took it off to figure out how to get it to not take up so much space. Never got around to putting it back up before school started, sadly (actually, I forgot about it, whoops). Spambots are a real problem as well, but that seemed to be fixed when only people who were registered on my site were allowed to comment.

I'm hoping when my friend codes a new gallery for me, the comment feature will be about as easy as dA's. That will be a long time in coming, though.

I'm glad you liked it! :D

No problem, you deserve all compliments. :D

Oh yeah, I remember you saying something to that effect (last year, if I'm not mistaken). Anyhow, would you also kindly remind your friend to delete that annoying copyright message box which pops up every time you right click? All it does is annoy people, and very much makes me not want to visit your site.

Poke me when the new comment feature comes along, would you?

I have not figured out how to deactivate that yet. It annoys the hell out of me, too! Hmm... *goes a-hunting*

I'll try to remember to fix the comment feature so it's nice and pretty before long.
